Recreation Committee

The goal of the Rome Recreation Committee is to draw the people of Rome together as a harmonious and happy community by:

1. Providing resources and facilities
2. Helping to maintain some of the recreation facilities
3. Organizing opportunities for socializing
4. Organizing and providing recreational activities for people of all ages and abilities in the Town

We always welcome suggestions and assistance from the members of the community on how we can better serve the Town.

We have a small budget provided by the Town and continously explore ways of generating revenue through grants, donations and fundraising.

Some of our most recent projects/activities include, cleaning up the Town Beach waterfront and adding a privy, creating a nature/activity trail through the woods for kids, hosting a Trunk-or-Treat at the Town Office at Halloween, organizing an annual community dinner, assisting with the Giving Tree over the Holidays.

A survey has been made available asking residents what they would like to have available to them here in Town. Moving forward, we are working on grants to build a walking track for recreation, a covered picnic area for more social events and a community garden. As time, funding and energy grows, we hope to grow our program to further foster a  thriving community for all ages and abilities.
